Bodhisattva Takut Akan Sebab, Mahkluk Biasa Takut Akan Akibat

Seorang umat awam ditimpa malapetaka.

Bodhisattva Takut Akan Sebab, Mahkluk Biasa Takut Akan Akibat

memenuhi kebutuhan hidup keluarga.

seperti mimpi, ilusi, gelembung kecil, bayang-bayang, embun,
halilintar, bayangan bulan di atas air, bayangan bunga di atas
cermin.

Mahkluk hidup terus menerus menciptakan sebab buruk

Doctrine of Suffering by: Sakya Sugata

Doctrine of Suffering - suffering is a necessity attribute of sentient existence (Effect of Suffering). The Buddha told us about eight sufferings;  Birth, Old Age, Sickness, Death, being apart from the loved ones, being together with the despised ones, not getting what one wants, and suffering because of five skanda.

I remembered when I was a child I asked my parent; When I was born? What was her feeling about the process when I was delivered into this world? My mom just told me it was on Sunday and at that time they were so worried for the process of my birth because her specialist doctor took a leave, but everything was under control when the undertaker doctor came. It brought the happiness to the big family as the first son and the first grandson was brought to this world.  After I learned Dharma, I now realize that it was my first suffering to be born in the samsara world.  In the view of Bodhisatva Path: it is my new duty to serve the world with wisdom and compassion to spread the Dharma in this life. I will take this opportunity and hope I could do my best to be a good monk.

As the eldest and the eldest grandson, I was so pempered, they all care about me, but sometimes I often cried to something that I don’t understand for example why my lovely grandpa died when I was a child? It felt a big lost of someone who has loved me so much and always by my side. And was protecting me when my father or mother was in anger when I made a mistake, the one who was always playing with me in his valuable time. And sometimes It upset me for not be able to get something that others have?  And after I learned Dharma, I realized that every condition is impermanent, and every thing has their own conditions,  nothing that we owned. We are in samsara and can’t escape from Dukkha.

Doctrine of Accumulation

Doctrine of Accumulation - accumulation of suffering is caused by passions (Cause of Suffering)

Passion or living in desires or Tanha, is the cause of suffering, In the fact, a lot of us searching for happiness, but we didn’t realize that we force our ability just to find a pleasure of life. In my observe like some people beside me whose working too hard and very easily to use their money like the water flow, because they didn’t know what exactly they looking for their own life and what the benefit that they can done for their life and others.  Some other people in the high modern living, ‘night life’ as their secondary needs in their life, seeking for pleasure and happiness, like go to bar or looking for some other pleasure as their habits . This is just make them in suffered and can’t attaint the real happiness, because became the slaves of Tanha (desire).

Some people in the poor condition, have imagination too, every day living with big hope for the future with their own dream, but it’s can’t change their condition, but some of them look so enjoy with their live hood, in my country a lot of poor people born more then 3 child because of biological needs of sex desires (kama tanha) make them in the worse condition and they don’t have enough education, even they didn’t have permanent home and live in the river side or under the bridge, and enjoy their desires. The big suffers can’t remove from they eyes, They have no choice to choose, there are no job with enough salaries for them, some of them become jobless and join the side of the darkness life. Prostitute, robber, children sex abuse and there is a lot of problem because of Desire.

Buddha Dharma tell us that all of the mundane happiness is not real, like a dream in the night, and when waking up the dream isn’t true; like a moon in the water, it’s just a reflection not real; when we are in the high way see the water over the road looks like the day after rain, it’s just illusion too because the reflection of sun shine we thought the road is wet. So I thought a lot of people living in their illusion and don’t know how to getting out from their own problem.

The Buddha him self was a Prince who living in the palace and have very fully service of the world pleasure, But actually He realize this ways not make him very happy, and started to find or looking for some thing highest Happiness. And start to seek the extreme ascetic ways to searching the liberation. But other ways all the extreme condition can’t make he realize the highest happiness, and can’t lead to cessation of suffering. Finally the find the answer after heard the song of the singer: “if the string of guitar setting so tight, somehow it’s will be break. But if the string of guitar setting too loose it’s can’t make sound”. So the first time he realized ‘the middle path’.

When I was under 15th years old, I am a greedy boy with my big desire of eating delicious fast foods,  in super mall or the famous restaurant, eating fast food makes me fell comfort in every meal, but after finish all of its, I still feel unsatisfied, because I don’t know whenever I could get some of it anymore. Its make me in suffer because of my greed. Sometimes I didn’t eat the food that already reserved for me even my mom herself cooked for me.  I’m a fat boy in my age and felt embrace of my own body. Why I can’t control my own bodies? Why I can’t control my bad habits? And I start to diet and sport every day, because in teen age, the body shape is the most important thinks. And every year when I seeing my own picture there are always different face and body shape of my self.

When there is no compassion and thanks for every thing because of ignorance, someone didn’t know their bad attitude. After learn Buddhism there are deep and simple answers of these question, make me understand about Dukkha, Impermanent and five skandas, no-self, 五觀, the power of wisdom and compassion, we must have 懺悔and 慚愧.  Make me start to repentance of my fault. Then I realize this body isn’t mine, they won’t listen what I want, it’s because the rule of karmic law. Everything happened because our mind, we create our own karma. I got suffered with my fat body because my greedy, because my desire, and I become more thin because my hard working. As like the “Passion lead suffering”.

Doctrine of Extinction

Doctrine of Extinction - extinction of passion (Effect of Happiness)

Nirvana is a Sanskrit word which is originally translated as “perfect stillness”. It has many other meanings, such as liberation, eternal bliss, tranquil extinction,

There are four kinds of Nirvana: Nirvana of pure, clear self-nature; Nirvana with residue; Nirvana without residue; Nirvana of no dwelling of the flourishing of the Five Skandhas

A lot assumption about Nirvana, no word could explain Nirvana. And some people thought Nirvana is the happiness mental condition.

The people whose use drugs said Nirvana attained that when they have use Heroin, and others. They could feel trans between two world. And for a while forget they own problem and life in Nirvana, but after that all, they reborn again in the Hell of Samsara. This is the wrong view of Nirvana that I ever heard.

But for the real Nirvana, I still don’t understand, so I must working hard to cut off all my greed, anger, and ignorance, cut off Tanha to proof the condition of Nirvana. The most important thinks is  “live for right now ”, practice dharma in daily life, 學習做人”.
